Live Music: MELÓ + Kaspar Berry Rapkin

9.30pm - MELÓ - Inspired by 90s femme grunge bands like No Doubt and L7, MELÓ’s unique vocals, coupled with her bittersweet contrast between light-hearted indie-alternative instrumentals and darker lyrical content bring a modern twist to the female empowered musicians of the ‘90s.

MELÓ uses vulnerability in her lyrics to de-stigmatize and discuss issues of mental health and manipulation, to ultimately create a space of understanding and acceptance. Taking a male-dominated genre, and shifting the narrative both musically and lyrically to align with these beliefs. With her debut EP ‘Youthless,’ out she is excited to finally share her current and future releases live with you.

8.45pm Kaspar Beryy Rapkin - Kaspar grew up in London and moved to Hertfordshire when he was 9. He learned the guitar when he was 11 when a family friend with a serious disability gave one to him on the condition that Kaspar would learn how to play it.

At the age of 12 he discovered Pride and Joy on Guitar Hero and quickly realised this was the blues. This would send him on a path of education and revelation to the blues as a genre and a life style.

Kaspar went to New Orleans to celebrate turning 18 where he performed in B.B. Kings Blues Club (and was discovered by Harold Marcho music producer). Harold invited Kaspar back to the States to record his first single Sailing.
