Live Music: Andrew Maxwell Morris + Alex Hall + Nadia Sheikh

10pm - Andrew Maxwell Morris

Andrew is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. As well as performing at Glastonbury Festival for the past ten years, he has supported Fleetwood Mac's Peter Green and Marillion. Over the past 15 years he has risen from the open mic nights of London, to write and release two EP's and two albums. His songs are regularly placed in TV shows and films around the world. His song 'Dust' and ' Let it go' have peaked in the top 5 Apple Music singer/songwriter tracks in Russia, Belgium and Iceland.

Andrew’s passion for music is without limit. He takes inspiration from great songwriters such a Bob Dylan, Ben Howard and Neil Young. This doesn't define the music he makes but it is their unique vocal character which warms him and fuels his passion for song writing. Andrew wrote his first song at the age of 12 and taught himself drums and guitar at 13.

9.20pm - Alex Hall

As a songwriter he has been described a ‘Ray Davis of our times’ by Glastonbury Emerging TALENT judge Tony Hardy and has garnered avid praise from Grammy Award winning heavyweight engineer Jon Jacobs.

An adept multi-instrumentalist: his ambitious live show, incorporates VFX and a remarkable ‘one man band’ experience where lex unexpectedly roams between synths, guitars, drum pads, keyboards, pianos and trumpets.

His most recent release in January 2022, the Double A-Side of “I Swear That It Was Love” and “2019” which was play-listed for a staggering five consecutive weeks by BBC Introducing points towards 2022 being a tipping point year for Hall, as his following continues to grow as a unique artist.

8.45pm - Nadia Sheikh -Picture an amalgamation of delicate vocals and powerful indie rock. Vocal lines that shift from airy to powerful in the split of a second. Nadia Sheikh is a genre chameleon that mixes strong indie rock tracks with timeless pop tunes and heartfelt acoustic songs. Quirky melodies and catchy choruses that stick with you. With an impressive cultural background, the half British, half Spanish artist has the power to captivate you with her haunting voice.

Championed by BBC Introducing, BBCR2, BBC 6 Music, Radio X, Planet Rock, RNE and Radio 3 (equivalent to BBCR 6 in Spain) and Fresh On The Net amongst others, Nadia is set to make her mark on the music scene.

Nadia and her band have supported Stereophonics in their European dates and some UK dates, including Manchester Arena and Cardiff Arena, of their Kind Tour in January and February 2020. Were tipped as one of This Feeling’s ‘Big in 2018’, and have performed all around the UK and Spain, including the Isle of Wight Festival (‘18 & ‘19), FIB (Benicassim festival) and Y Not festival. Nadia and her band have also done their TV debut on Los Conciertos de Radio 3 on RTVE (national Spanish TV).

Nadia’s new EP ‘Undefined’ produced by Brett Shaw (FOALS, Florence and the Machine…) released on 16.11.21, includes singles “IDWK”, “Love Is Undefined” and “Deep Waters” as heard on BBC6Music, Radio X, Radio 3 (Spain), Planet Rock, The Line of Best Fit…
