9.30pm - H.Eldritch - is the intricate and anthemic music of singer, songwriter and producer Harry Houseago, existing on the fringes of indie folk, dirty electronica and arena rock.
The songs combine acoustic guitar orchestrations with imaginative electronics and vocals that drift from delicate falsetto lines to impassioned primal roars. Half the songs are about stumbling inadequately through relationships in various stages of breakdown while the other half are self-deprecating attempts at cautious optimism.
‘I’m half-resigned that she and I
just waste each other’s time
I wouldn’t say she broke my heart
but she kissed me once and told me I was nice’
Live, h. eldritch become a powerhouse trio, with Harry being joined by ingenious drummer/percussionist Oscar Reynolds and mercurial multi-instrumentalist James Hill on bass guitar and synth. With songs and showmanship in spades, they earned themselves slots at this year's Glastonbury Festival, Pub In The Park, Signature Brew’s Summer In the City festival and are coming to the Bread and Roses fresh off the back of last month’s headline show at The Bedford, Balham.
The release of ‘Amateur Anthropology’ coincided with their appearances at this year’s Glastonbury Festival where they performed four times, including a solo performance by Harry on the Strummerville stage; its time slot on the Wednesday afternoon making it the first live performance at the festival this year. Amateur Anthropology received glowing reviews from Plastic Magazine and Lost in the Manor among others, and was playlisted by CLOUT Magazine, The Slow Music Movement and more.
h. eldritch gives you the ghosts and the machines.
