by Lewis Wood - Broken Silence Theatre
Sunday 8th December at 3pm
Conor Reeve is voiceless,
His life completely joyless.
He's lost all sense of hope,
He's been struck dumb, and is struggling to cope.
Following a traumatic event, spoken-word poet Conor finds himself completely unable to speak. As he embarks on a journey of speech therapy, his flatmate Luke tries his best to support him, while his mum attempts to heal his chakras with reiki. Through this process, Conor continues to write poetry, using it to release his pent-up frustration about his lack of a voice.
"Speak" is a play about little victories and learning to find your voice, showcasing how difficult life can become when you aren't able to talk, but how you can get by through feeding off the love of those around you.
\Presented as a rehearsed reading, the performance will be followed by a short Q&A with the creative team.
Some bad language, recommended 16+
